It is arranged in a logical sequence following chromatic progression from left to right in what we call rainbow order. The colors are organized in saturation levels by row with the brightest chromas found in row one, slightly muted in row 2, more muted in row 3 followed by dusty and then neutral colors.  One column in the display is one color family. This type of alignment puts color families together for ease in selecting monochromatic colors but also assists in selecting adjacent or related colors to the left and right of each family.

The Colorizer system offers more color than most other contemporary paint color systems. The Colorizer color tools are particularly helpful to professional painters, architects, color designers and retail consumers.

The Colorizer 1320 color palette has 60 Lighter Off Whites and 60 Bolder Accents not usually available in most other color systems. The remaining 1200 colors are shown in an 8 step letdowns from an off white to an accent.

Colorizer color tools consist of Color Chips, Fan decks, Architect Kits, and Color Albums.

Historic Colors

Historic ColorsThe Historic Colour Collection showcases colours carefully selected from historic buildings and objects which authentically reflect the colours of our past.  Coordinated combinations help you create body, trim, and accent paint schemes to dramatize your home, inside and outside.  Whether you are decorating an old house or a contemporary one, these combinations add the character and distinction of America’s colourful past.

Curators and preserationists from Historic New England work with other museums and private homeowners from across the country to understand, preserve and recreate the Historic Colour Collection.

The Historic Colour Collection consists of 149 colors that have been extensively researched by the Society for Preservation of New England Antiquities (SPNEA).  Working with museums, antiques, and historic buildings, the SPNEA as able to create a collection that accurately reproduces the colors of our past.  But, do not let the name fool you.  These colors look just as beautiful on the contemporary homes of today as they do on the traditional homes of our past.
